As I rise from my bed I feel the hush on the land outside and it is so bright
I walk to my window and look out and see the fresh snowfall that fell this night
I put on a robe and go out and open up the Jacuzzi and slip into it because
it is so neat
Because I had to take the cover off and I didn't have anything on I have frozen
feet
But I lay in the warmth of the waters and the snow slowly filters down over
the land
The quiet of this place is so wonderful that I know that the spirits of the
world are at hand
My mind drifts as I feel the snowflakes melting on my upturned face as the
sun rises
Knowing that this is one of the special things in life that make life full of
surprises
After I have spent enough time in this wonderful warm bath with the snow
slowly falling
I get out and put the cover back on because I know that I feel the forest
calling
I get dressed warmly and taking my dog we head for the forest so I can walk
in the snow
She is happy as punch knowing that she has a chance to frolic, play and gets to
go
Then as get into the car and slowly drive down the road as the snow crunches
in the street
In the early morning kids are out throwing snowballs and making snow angels so
neat
I see that earlier it must have rained because there is ice on the standing
eaves
This is a true winter wonderland like they say and I drive through it with ease
Then we approach the forest and I slowly descend down and walk into the snow
covered trees
We go back into the silence and walk the forest paths that are still covered
with fallen leaves
The snow has covered the trees and covered the forest floor with a gentle
blanket of white
The tracks of a few animals that have been out scurrying for food perhaps during
the night
As we walk back deep into the forest and come to a clearing I see we are the
first
My dog rushes into the snow and makes trails here and there in quick darting
bursts
I slowly walk into the clearing and turn my head up to the falling snow in my
face
Knowing that for a moment I have been granted peace and happiness in this place
Then as my dog wanders I can not resist and plop back into the snow moving my
arms and feet
Making a snow angel I become the kid that I feel in my heart laughing because it
is so neat
My dog runs to see what I am doing and licks my face and jumps up and down
with delight
Having such a ball here we frolic and play in the snow till we both are almost
white
Then I slowly make my way back to the car and take my faithful dog home to
warm her up
I have to change my clothes because of all the snow and she is as happy like she
was a pup
Then I get back into the car and go to find you and we both go back to the
forest this day
You get a little mad at me because I went without you before and had fun and did
play
But I wanted to share our time in the quiet of the forest together with just
us two
Not sharing myself with anyone else when I am with you is what I really wanted
to do
When we park and walk into the forest you hold my hand tight as we pass over
the ice
The pressure of your hand in mine is so wonderful to me and really feels so nice
We find a trail that no one has passed into the forest and we move into this
silent land
You are close to me and sharing the beauty of this place as you hold on to my
hand
When we come to a break in the trees and the silence of the land is beautiful
to behold
You turn to me and come into my arms, as I am so happy to have you in my arms to
hold
Holding you in my arms and looking down to your face that is so red from the
cold
My darling you are so special to me I tell you as your lips find mine so bold
We laugh as both of us kiss because this brings a warmth in our bodies as
well as our hearts
Then holding hands again we move into this wonderland of beauty not every
wanting to part
As we get into the clearing under the trees you turn to me and smile as you
fall back
Laughing I know that for the second time this day I'm go
